All Pre-2.1 SRB2 versions do that. I don't know what exactly causes it, but it's usually fixable by changing the in-game video resolution. It doesn't mean anything bad.

Hosting on Android is actually possible, I've even seen some people host servers on the MS this way before. I would recommend keeping a good eye on your internet strength though, most Android based servers I've joined are quite laggy.

For me, it depends... I feel like sprites are more fitting because a majority of the objects in SRB2 are also sprites, and the fact that the general gameplay was built around using sprites as well. I think they can be good for certain scenarios like if you're playing a match or a gameplay style...
