Cool, so many neat mods have been made that are kinda just stuck in inferior and buggy versions of the game so this will be good to finally be able to play them in a much more comfortable way.

Serious answer: the story is a follow-up/sequel to the first game so SRB2 works. a subtitle might also work if you can think of one.
Of all the games they could remaster they chose the least deserving one... I like Generations but Unleashed, Rush, Riders and Storybook series games could also use PC ports. New Shadow levels and stuff look interesting though, especially because they aren't just copy-pasted levels like Forces.
You may want to make those rooms smaller and add more details to the room before those balloons (the one with those sloped rectangle platforms where you used the rebound dash) either that or make them less empty
The Fume Shaft "rope hangs" should probably be replaced by minecart rides now that SRB2 has them. Either that or turn them into zoom tubes instead (pretty sure that's what they used to be in 2.0 version anyways) as it looks kind of weird right now with you just clipping through the floor while...
