Is there any way to edit demo 2 maps?

I'm working on a demo 2 remake mod, that runs in demo 2. Doing this for a betaquest video, but I can't for the life of me, find an editor compatible with demo 2. I tried zone builder, and when i place a sign post in eggrock, the game crashed trying to load the zone. If you know any good map editor for demo 2, please let me know. The mod will basically be betaquest maps but remade, and fixed (especially that wall texture in dark cirty act 2). This will also add sign posts to zones which didmn't have them and fanmade act 2's.
