The lore from sonic mars/ 32x is kinda similar to sonic frontiers. How? Both of them have some relation to a digital universe, sonic must save his friends after becoming digital and if you save them, you supposed to be able to play as them, like in update 3 of Sonic frontiers. Both have an ai rival.( sonic mars: mecha sonic/ sonic frontiers: sage). The technology is made by generations before them. Both have an ai assistant. Yes I am back. I was really busy.

Not sure about that Mecha Sonic part, but this is a well crafted theory. If this was true, then i guess Sega remembered that Mars existed and they decided to make the story of Frontiers be in the same type.

Probably still a coincidence but it was fun to think about. (I actually thought the exact same thing before the game even released)
