does anyone know how to do a comet haymaker on a boss? can't figure out how to do it
Ha, cool avatar. To make the comet you need to break the sound barrier and then press c2 as quickly as possible. video tutorial
Other than running in circles without bumping into anything, charging a spindash and doing a dodgeboost is the classic player-discovered method of doing Comet Haymakers in close quarters.does anyone know how to do a comet haymaker on a boss? can't figure out how to do it
Thanks, btw you think you could fix a bug? idk if you know but there’s currently a bug in which when clearing an act as any character, the skin color on that character becomes whatever skin color you have loaded on SMS, on that save file only. Reloading the game and/or save file doesn’t fix it either.Ha, cool avatar.

I actually had to program that back in deliberately when 3.0 accidentally fixed the jank causing the glitch in the first place.
Are you using SMSreborn v3.1? I swear I fixed that bug last update.T

Okay, so Shine, you won't believe this, but holy shplit, I created a weird new technique, and I call it: The Super Drop-Ring Bounce.
It's not really a useful technique, but it looks really cool.
How I found out about this weird style technique: I basically did a Ringburst, and when I got to mid-air, did a Super Dropdash, when at the last second, I did another Ringburst, which lead to another Super Dropdash, and another last second Ringburst, ect. ect.; It actually looked cool, like I was bouncing!
Here's the proof of this:
This has actually been a thing since v2, being unofficially called a dolphin dive (lol). It originally required you to have TAS-level quickness to be able to do this, being a constant spam of nearly 8 buttons in under a second! Now with v3.0, including the minor verisons to come, make this a simple Tossflag-Tossflag spamfest.Okay, so Shine, you won't believe this, but holy shplit, I created a weird new technique, and I call it: The Super Drop-Ring Bounce.

And there was a much longer gif where I wasted a bit of time trying to figure it out, but the space was TOO large for MB to load it.
This is the gif where I had accidentally done a much faster version of it. I will not get my time back from that.

Okay, so really quick update: I FOUND OUT HOW IT WORKED!
I spammed tossflag when sprinting and got this result lmaoooooooooo

Sorry about that...Just as a sidenote you should fully spoiler the gifs with flashing, its inconsiderate to those susceptible to it.
SMS config files are in the luafiles folderI could never comprehend, how do you manage to save the SMS config? i know theres an auto save, but being a server admin myself its quite a bother and annoyance needing to manually disable SMS graphics config everytime, as it always gets either reset back to default, or overriden randomly, and SMS is known to be quite laggy, specially HMS, so it would be great knowing how can i force that config, to never change back again unless i need to change it.
SMS Graphics do not save. They are always set to "automatic" at the start of a session. If there's alot of players or Hyper Mystic Sonic gets involved, it automatically lowers the graphics. You can force it to "low" manually, but I wouldn't bother doing so prematurely. Lag really doesn't happen nowadays unless you've raised the HMS cap and then let multiple people go HMS at once.I could never comprehend, how do you manage to save the SMS config? i know theres an auto save, but being a server admin myself its quite a bother and annoyance needing to manually disable SMS graphics config everytime, as it always gets either reset back to default, or overriden randomly, and SMS is known to be quite laggy, specially HMS, so it would be great knowing how can i force that config, to never change back again unless i need to change it.
The name's on the bottom left corner of the screen when you're not using the Legacy Tutorial. Flip Jump! You can do it from a footsweep attack as well.
Make sure SRB2 is updated to 2.2.13 or higher!hey why homing thok and wall jumps not working
lol, I'm glad more people are finding. Great party trick, can even be useful occasionally!Okay, so Shine, you won't believe this, but holy shplit, I created a weird new technique, and I call it: The Super Drop-Ring Bounce.

I don't even have any words. I've been playing SMS for so long that I know his base moveset from the top of my head. This is genuinely (in my opinion) the greatest mod that's ever come across in SRB2 history. No other mod has a larger skill ceiling than this and I genuinely can't play SRB2 without SMS. I wonder if there's ever gonna be a mod like this at all one day.
Man I need a better hobby.
edit: also, I just found out that for some reason, the third hit of custom 2 just... kills anything? I was playing on Equinox and there are these blue guys with 3 hits, but if I just stand a bit close the final hit of c2 just straight up ends them. That's why this mod is so good you always learn something new with it
sadly enough, it does lag a bit, when testing with the argument "1" on perfstats, you can see in GFZ 1, being yourself alone, that boosting, spamdashing and all that tend to rise the usual and safe values of Gamelogic from 700 up to around 2k, when having shoes effect and all that, and HMS is no exception, being able to reach around 2k-3k Gamelogic while spamdashing, sprinting and all that with HMS.SMS Graphics do not save. Speed Shoes are deifnitely the most intensive SMS gets when HMS isn't in the picture, but raising the gamelogic by 1.3k is still not much. Plenty of maps run at 2k~3k perpetually. (for me) It has to shoot past 11k to result in FPS drops.sadly enough, it does lag a bit, when testing with the argument "1" on perfstats, you can see in GFZ 1, being yourself alone, that boosting, spamdashing and all that tend to rise the usual and safe values of Gamelogic from 700 up to around 2k, when having shoes effect and all that, and HMS is no exception, being able to reach around 2k-3k Gamelogic while spamdashing, sprinting and all that with HMS.
Thats why it annoys me the fact that it doesnt save, and that it also may randomly reset to default by itself mid game.
all things considered, while it is a bit annoying for me as a server host, SMS would still have a green light, if the only laggy char was him, and nobody else from the custom characters, as hes on a yellow area, just 2 steps away from being a hella laggy char, and basically a no-no character, like Chaotix, Elfilin, and others, that raise the value to a red zone.Speed Shoes are deifnitely the most intensive SMS gets when HMS isn't in the picture, but raising the gamelogic by 1.3k is still not much. Even HMS' Nuclear Atom Dive impact "only" bumps the gamelogic up by 5k at max graphics. (Crysis in SRB2 ability form)
Not saying "I don't care, get a better PC"! Rather, it makes me curious at what points people experience FPS drops. To anyone reading along, want to run some tests with perfstats set to 1 and tell me at what "gamelogic" values you're seeing FPS drops?
It'll help me know what to shoot for without blindly guessing when some people's devices would start frying.
Here's my own data for comparison, and to make this easier for others! To anyone reading along, want to run some tests with perfstats set to 1 and tell me at what "gamelogic" values you're seeing FPS drops?

I want to experiment with I/O saves going forward, so there's a good chance I'll update SMS's save system and then implement a perma-low-graphics option. I SHOULD mention your own effects aren't rendered in as detailed for other players. SMS players put more strain on their own games than that of others.all things considered, while it is a bit annoying for me as a server host, SMS would still have a green light, if the only laggy char was him, and nobody else from the custom characters, as hes on a yellow area, just 2 steps away from being a hella laggy char, and basically a no-no character, like Chaotix, Elfilin, and others, that raise the value to a red zone.
Usually the "safe" values, that you would need to consider if you wanna host a server are these.
Idle, alone: around 1-2k-
Doing stuff, alone: 3k at max.
And if so, only ONE character can get up to 4k, and that already its a bit risky by itself, because everyone can just go that character and basically toast the server performance in a second.
